MEGYN KELLY (09:32:59): So my next guests have been called a lot of things: Entrepreneurs, fashionistas, trendsetters. But we know them by the term of endearment, Housewives. Take a look.

MEGYN KELLY: Please welcome Lisa Vanderpump, Kyle Richards and Erika Girardi.

(09:34:38): Hi. Hi.

LISA VANDERPUMP: What a welcome. Thank you.

MEGYN KELLY So remember when I interviewed President Putin?

LISA VANDERPUMP: Yes.

MEGYN KELLY: This is so much better than that.

(Cross talking)

MEGYN KELLY: I've so been looking forward to this. No, I said this on the TODAY Show and it's true. Eight years ago I watched the first season of your show. And I was like, well, we'll see. And it was the best season of television I've ever seen in my life. My husband, Doug, was like, what is this drivel. And then four episodes in, he was like, oh, I've got another one, another one, another.

LISA VANDERPUMP: I know.

KYLE RICHARDS ("The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills"): Men love it, too.

LISA VANDERPUMP: Eight years ago.

KYLE RICHARDS: Yeah.

MEGYN KELLY: It-- it reels you in.

LISA VANDERPUMP: And there are a lot of people that watch it that don't admit that.

MEGYN KELLY: That's right.

LISA VANDERPUMP: Yeah, exactly.

MEGYN KELLY: I-- I'm proud.

LISA VANDERPUMP: Yeah. Okay, good.

MEGYN KELLY: Now, I've had-- since had three children. They were like ten. It feels like a lot. So I don't get to watch it as often, but I-- I have caught up on you, Erika.

ERIKA GIRARDI ("The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills"): Oh, my god.

MEGYN KELLY: All right. So, I have a lot of questions that I want to ask, a lot of questions that I want to ask.

LISA VANDERPUMP: We dragged her into our hot mess.

ERIKA GIRARDI: Thanks.

LISA VANDERPUMP: Reason for the occasion.

MEGYN KELLY: So I'm going to start with you. You-- you two have been there from the beginning. Maybe I'm wrong. You seem like the richest one.

LISA VANDERPUMP: Oh. Oh. No. I don't think that's true.

MEGYN KELLY: It's saying something, you know, in this crowd.

LISA VANDERPUMP: You know what? Maybe I give that appearance. But if I was that rich, I'd be sitting in bed eating bonbons, instead of working my buttock every day.

MEGYN KELLY: Well, That's my question. Because you're a successful entrepreneur. You're also on this show. You have, obviously, means. So why do this?

LISA VANDERPUMP: Well, because it's given me such a vehicle to highlight so many of the things I'm passionate about, and advertise my restaurants. I'm no fool. But it's also just documented my life and we've opened The Vanderpump Dog Rescue Foundation, the center.

MEGYN KELLY: The dogs-- the dogs are here. We're going to get to the dogs.

LISA VANDERPUMP: Yeah. And I-- you know, I was just a normal woman, kind of like, and I saw this Yulin Dog Meat Festival. And I kind of got very involved with that. And Bravo chose to document it, so. And then I ended up opening my dog rescue center. So it's given me so much. And--

KYLE RICHARDS: You were never a normal woman.

LISA VANDERPUMP: No. That's true.

(Cross talking)

MEGYN KELLY: This, we know. Now do you really-- are you really dripping with diamonds like in your personal life when you walk around the house?

LISA VANDERPUMP: They're all in the bank. And she--

MEGYN KELLY: They're in the bank.

LISA VANDERPUMP: I was-- I was wrong.

KYLE RICHARDS: Mine was stolen, so I don't have any.

MEGYN KELLY: All right. So Kyle, I-- one of the things I love about you is your marriage.

KYLE RICHARDS: Thank you.

MEGYN KELLY: I love you-- your relationship.

KYLE RICHARDS: Thank you.

MEGYN KELLY: And you too seem to have a beautiful marriage. But you and Mauricio seem genuinely in love. And that's sort of a storyline on the show, which is the opposite of what they tell us about The Real Housewives, that there's a curse that if you're on the show, you're going to get a divorce. So how--

LISA VANDERPUMP: Well, there's still time, I mean, I--

MEGYN KELLY: How did you-- how do you make that work given the show and all the-- all that comes with it?

KYLE RICHARDS: You know, I have a theory about that. I think a lot of women, The Housewives, I should say, come into The Housewives thinking, you know, they're not happily married and this is their out. This is going to give them independence. They're going to, you know, make their own money now. And then if there're cracks in the marriage, it inevitably will fall apart. If you have a strong marriage and a solid foundation, like we do, nothing can take you down. So we're stronger than ever. And we've gone through difficult times on the show. Because it is challenging navigating through any relationship whether it's a marriage or friendships, you know, they're tested all the time. But we come out stronger, so.

MEGYN KELLY: You're the half-sister of Kathy Hilton?

KYLE RICHARDS: Well, I don't really think of it as half, but, yeah, we're the same--

MEGYN KELLY: Okay.

KYLE RICHARDS: Yeah.

MEGYN KELLY: Sister--.

KYLE RICHARDS: Sisters, yes.

MEGYN KELLY: --to Kathy Hilton.

KYLE RICHARDS: Yes.

MEGYN KELLY: So the aunt of Paris Hilton--

KYLE RICHARDS: Yes.

MEGYN KELLY: --and Nicky Hilton.

KYLE RICHARDS: Yes.

MEGYN KELLY: What's harder? Being part of the Hilton family or being a real housewives of-- wife of Beverly Hills?

KYLE RICHARDS: Being a housewife. It's been very challenging at times, very challenging at times. I mean, if you had asked me, you know, back in the day, would it be difficult to do a reality show, I would have laughed? That's crazy. But it has been very hard at times, you know.

MEGYN KELLY: Yeah.

KYLE RICHARDS: You would never match.

MEGYN KELLY: There's a lot of, no, no, no, no, that, all right, right.

KYLE RICHARDS: It's anxiety provoking.

MEGYN KELLY: So Erika, I have to tell you, I-- I'm obsessed with-- with, "It's expensive to be me."

ERIKA GIRARDI: So much.

MEGYN KELLY: It's really touchy. Have you seen her-- her music video? Here. Here a-- we have a little bit.

ERIKA GIRARDI: Oh, my gosh.

MEGYN KELLY: Stand by.

ERIKA GIRARDI: Oh.

MEGYN KELLY: Here it comes.

(Excerpt from "RHOBH"/Bravo Media)

MEGYN KELLY (09:38:53): Yeah. She's had multiple number one hits on the Billboard dance charts. And I love your message, which is, you can be mid-forties and you can still bring it. You can--

ERIKA GIRARDI: That's right.

MEGYN KELLY: Right? There's no-- you know, there's no giving up, there's no compromising, there's no throwing in any towel.

ERIKA GIRARDI: They're old rules that are broken. And, you know, we're not here for that. I mean I think, especially as women now, you know, we're reclaiming all of our power. And those old rules have fallen by the wayside.

MEGYN KELLY: And if it happens to take-- if it happens to take a patent leather boot up to there, you bring it. Right after the break we're going to find out how the ladies really feel about all those on-screen arguments.

(ANNOUNCEMENTS)

(Excerpt from "RHOBH"/Bravo Media)

MEGYN KELLY: Why would you not watch that? Why? What is the good reason not to watch that? We're back now with The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Lisa Vanderpump, Kyle Richards, and Erika Girardi. Erika, let me ask you, because--

ERIKA GIRARDI: Yes.

MEGYN KELLY: --you and Lisa-- no, no, no, you and Dorit have been feuding. I'm trying to get-- I'm trying to get my facts straight.

ERIKA GIRARDI: Well, the feuding is over.

MEGYN KELLY: It's done.

ERIKA GIRARDI: That was in the past.

MEGYN KELLY: That was last season.

ERIKA GIRARDI: And I would like to say that I was good on my word and said that I would try and I did. And we've developed very slowly have developed a beginning of a friendship.

MEGYN KELLY: There was something called Pantygate--

ERIKA GIRARDI: There's no feuding.

MEGYN KELLY: There was something called Pantygate where Erika was missing some underwear and there was this.

ERIKA GIRARDI: And I got them on the deck.

KYLE RICHARDS: Missing.

MEGYN KELLY: I love you though because she was suggesting you had sort of done it to titillate. And your defense was, it was unintentional. You were-- and I was thinking, how do you unintentionally not wear your underwear?

ERIKA GIRARDI: Well, no. You unintention-- well, yes, I intentionally did not wear a underwear, but I did not open my legs on purpose.

MEGYN KELLY: Right. It wasn't an attempt to seduce.

ERIKA GIRARDI: No. Not at all.

MEGYN KELLY: I see.

ERIKA GIRARDI: No. I'm much more forward. I would have told you.

MEGYN KELLY: Right. You would have brought it.

ERIKA GIRARDI: I would have been very straight up about it.

MEGYN KELLY: And by the way, so Erika is this sexy music vixen and so on, but she's also the mother of a police officer.

ERIKA GIRARDI: Yes, I am.

MEGYN KELLY: Right?

ERIKA GIRARDI: Thank you.

MEGYN KELLY: He's the only-- he's the only one, the only child, you all moms, he's the only child we don't see. He's grown--

ERIKA GIRARDI: Yes.

MEGYN KELLY: --on the show. Is that because he's a police officer?

ERIKA GIRARDI: It is. And not everybody wants to be on TV, believe it or not, you know? I mean I know that sounds crazy. But yeah, he's in a-- you know, he's in a dangerous line of work.

MEGYN KELLY: Yeah.

ERIKA GIRARDI: And, you know, he's-- he prefers his anonymity as much as possible. And I agree with that.

MEGYN KELLY: Now, do-- do you-- I have to just ask some basic beauty questions. How long do you spend in hair makeup generally?

LISA VANDERPUMP: Oh, I got ready in the hotel bathroom this morning on my own. That's probably why it's not altogether--

MEGYN KELLY: I pictured the three of you with like champagne and a glam squad. No?

LISA VANDERPUMP: I didn't. But--

KYLE RICHARDS: No. I would say, if I'm doing something like this, probably an hour.

MEGYN KELLY: Okay. That's--

KYLE RICHARDS: Yeah.

MEGYN KELLY: --that's par for the course.

KYLE RICHARDS: How long does it take you to get ready?

MEGYN KELLY: Well, about an hour. Yeah.

(Cross talking)

MEGYN KELLY: I-- I-- I'll tell you, I tried a little extra hard today knowing that you were coming.

ERIKA GIRARDI: There you go.

MEGYN KELLY: Yeah. I did. I-- I have the inside eyeliner, which I don't normally have. Who chooses the wardrobe? Because it's, oh, it's so gorgeous.

LISA VANDERPUMP: We do.

ERIKA GIRARDI: We do.

MEGYN KELLY: You do?

KYLE RICHARDS: Yeah. Me too. Yeah.

ERIKA GIRARDI: We do.

MEGYN KELLY: Like the body stocking? Like--

LISA VANDERPUMP: What body stocking?

MEGYN KELLY: Mellencamp.

LISA VANDERPUMP: Oh.

KYLE RICHARDS: Oh.

ERIKA GIRARDI: Oh.

MEGYN KELLY: Yeah.

ERIKA GIRARDI: Yeah, that's her.

MEGYN KELLY: She's new.

KYLE RICHARDS: (Unintelligible) about that.

LISA VANDERPUMP: Yeah.

MEGYN KELLY: John Mellencamp's daughter is on the show this season?

KYLE RICHARDS: No.

LISA VANDERPUMP: With that body, she couldn't wear her body stocking. I'm not wearing that. Those days are over.

MEGYN KELLY: All right. So when you-- the-- the-- the arguments that we've seen. That's what-- that's what I was talking about.

WOMAN #: Yes.

LISA VANDERPUMP: Well, Kyle chooses those.

MEGYN KELLY: I know you--

KYLE RICHARDS: Oh, please. You see what she does.

ERIKA GIRARDI: What are you talking about? You're always back there pushing us.

LISA VANDERPUMP: Oh, really?

KYLE RICHARDS: Please. So you never feel like what their reunion will be like.

ERIKA GIRARDI: Now we're on the couch.

KYLE RICHARDS: Yes.

LISA VANDERPUMP: Exactly.

(Cross talking)

MEGYN KELLY: Kyle is the reasonable one.

LISA VANDERPUMP: Yeah.

KYLE RICHARDS: See, I'm the reasonable one.

LISA VANDERPUMP: No, I'm the sensible a lot.

KYLE RICHARDS: Thank you. Thank you.

LISA VANDERPUMP: You're still hitting me.

ERIKA GIRARDI: You said backstage you'd never sit next to me. So there you go.

MEGYN KELLY: You know-- you know, this is a question.

LISA VANDERPUMP: All right. Can we listen or no?

KYLE RICHARDS: You see what happened?

MEGYN KELLY: Is it-- is it--

ERIKA GIRARDI: Genuine?

MEGYN KELLY: --is it genuine?

ERIKA GIRARDI: Yes.

KYLE RICHARDS: Yes.

LISA VANDERPUMP: Yes.

MEGYN KELLY: The arguments are genuine?

LISA VANDERPUMP: I wish it was genuine.

KYLE RICHARDS: Yeah.

ERIKA GIRARDI: Yes.

MEGYN KELLY: Do you carry it with you when the show--

KYLE RICHARDS: We're laughing now. When we leave, it's going to be a problem.

LISA VANDERPUMP: They're we're good. We're-- we're really good.

KYLE RICHARDS: No. I mean I adore these two.

ERIKA GIRARDI: Who is we?

KYLE RICHARDS: Yeah.

LISA VANDERPUMP: Sorry, sweetie.

KYLE RICHARDS: I adore these two. I don't know about them.

(Cross talking)

LISA VANDERPUMP: We're all good. Okay, okay. Yeah, we're-- we're all good.

KYLE RICHARDS: Yeah, they're good.

MEGYN KELLY: All right. I'm not the only one with questions. I'm aware of this. The audience has questions. Oh. When we come back--

LISA VANDERPUMP: Oh, my God.

MEGYN KELLY: --we're going to talk about a couple things. First, whether anything is off-limits when the ladies are on screen. Second, the audiences' questions. And third, we've got to get to Lisa's dogs. Would you look at the dogs? Look at the dogs.

(ANNOUNCEMENTS)

MEGYN KELLY: All right. I-- well, I want to get to my audience questions, but I have to ask you this question. What would I need to be a real housewife?

KYLE RICHARDS: You've got what it takes.

LISA VANDERPUMP: Oh, oh, yeah.

(Cross talking)

MEGYN KELLY: Oh, I've got what it takes.

ERIKA GIRARDI: Yeah.

LISA VANDERPUMP: Oh.

MEGYN KELLY: Oh.

LISA VANDERPUMP: You could hold the diamond.

KYLE RICHARDS: Yeah.

MEGYN KELLY: I could. That would feel right to me. That would feel right.

LISA VANDERPUMP: I think your tagline would be, I'm naughtier than I look.

MEGYN KELLY: Oh.

KYLE RICHARDS: I like it.

ERIKA GIRARDI: I like it.

KYLE RICHARDS: I like it.

MEGYN KELLY: Okay. More importantly, the audience wants to ask you some pressing questions. Wait a minute. So Alex is your number one fan. He's--

ALEX: Hi, ladies.

MEGYN KELLY: He says he's never been proud of me than right now.

ALEX: And that tagline, genius.

MEGYN KELLY: Do you have a question Alex before we get to the audience? So many questions. Yes. Okay. You had money well before the show, now you have fame. Which is better? Being rich or being famous?

KYLE RICHARDS: Being-- having money is obviously better. Yeah.

MEGYN KELLY: Definitely.

LISA VANDERPUMP: There's a downside to the whole fame thing. I mean you can't get away with the shit you used to.

MEGYN KELLY: As Judge--

ERIKA GIRARDI: There're a lot, Miss Vanderpump.

MEGYN KELLY: And as Judge Judy put it to me once, it doesn't suck to be rich. Words to live by. Okay. So--

ERIKA GIRARDI: I think (unintelligible) probably the best.

LISA VANDERPUMP: Yes.

KYLE RICHARDS: Absolutely.

ERIKA GIRARDI: Right.

MEGYN KELLY: Okay. Now, first question, Alex, we have, let me see, hold on, is it Nicholas from Staten Island? Nicholas.

NICHOLAS: Hi, ladies. So my question is for Lisa. And Lisa, I'd like to know, what are the biggest misconceptions that fans of the show have about you?

LISA VANDERPUMP: Oh, gosh. I think-- well, the-- the show is a reality show. So you do see everything. But sometimes people think that I'm walking around like with a crown on my head in my house.

MEGYN KELLY: That's-- that's what I think.

KYLE RICHARDS: You do?

MEGYN KELLY: Yeah.

LISA VANDERPUMP: That's the true part.

ERIKA GIRARDI: Flower--

LISA VANDERPUMP: No. But, you know, I work really hard. And I sometimes feel that, do people just think that we're glamorous all the time? Yeah, absolutely not. But I think we're trying to show that on the show, too. But the overall perception is--

MEGYN KELLY: Yeah.

LISA VANDERPUMP: --diamond and roses.

MEGYN KELLY: The glitter.

LISA VANDERPUMP: Definitely a bit of rose though, I have to say.

MEGYN KELLY: Okay. Pat from Brooklyn. Where's Pat? What's your question, Pat? Hi.

PAT: My question is for Erika.

ERIKA GIRARDI: Yes.

PAT: It's been a year since Expensive was released. When can we expect a new music?

ERIKA GIRARDI: Honey, I'm in the studio right now. I-- I-- I'm so excited to make new music and to get all them perform again. Yeah. Thank you.

PAT: We're excited for you.

ERIKA GIRARDI: And thank you for the support. I really appreciate that.

MEGYN KELLY: It's ridiculously catchy. It ridiculously catchy. It gets in your head and you cannot get it out.

ERIKA GIRARDI: That's the point.

MEGYN KELLY: Justin from Astoria. Shout out for Queens. All men. interesting.

JUSTIN: Hello. My question is also for Lisa. There're a lot of big personalities in your season and also there're lot of big personalities with your dogs. If you had to compare each of the housewives to one of your dogs, who would be who?

LISA VANDERPUMP: Oh, lordy. That puts me on the spot. Well, I do remember one of my taglines was, I'm passionate about dogs, just not crazy about bitches. Oh, well, but he said, you can't say that. I was like, oops, suggested.

MEGYN KELLY: Can I ask you quickly before we go, Kyle? How have you changed in the eight seasons?

KYLE RICHARDS: Oh, my gosh. Well, let's start with the visual. We were watching and we were just laughing about watching us age, you know, over these eight years is just a little bit painful sometimes. But, you know, this show, you're tested all the time. And it could bring out the worst in you. And you do, you know, live and learn from your mistakes. And I think we all do. It's-- you know, it's-- it's like a--

MEGYN KELLY: Is any of that scripted, where they say, okay, you two are going to have a fight?

KYLE RICHARDS: No. Nothing.

ERIKA GIRARDI: No.

MEGYN KELLY: None of that?

KYLE RICHARDS: No.

MEGYN KELLY: You just--

KYLE RICHARDS: Wouldn't that be great?

LISA VANDERPUMP: I would love that.

KYLE RICHARDS: We would just leave it and at the end of the day will be happy.

ERIKA GIRARDI: We really wouldn't be upset when we go home.

MEGYN KELLY: Yeah.

KYLE RICHARDS: Yeah.

ERIKA GIRARDI: You know?

MEGYN KELLY: Well, what you're putting yourself through is worth it to us. I'm so happy. We thank you. We salute you. Thank you so much. Much love to all of you.

KYLE RICHARDS: Thank you.

MEGYN KELLY: And you can watch a new episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills tonight at 9:00, 8:00 Central on our sister network Bravo. We'll be right back.
