Kyle Richards says a ‘stupid picture’ led to attacks on her marriage

Kyle Richards revealed that a paparazzi photo led to several of her “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” co-stars questioning her marriage.

“It started all from a stupid picture of me without a ring on,” Richards exclusively told Page Six at an event for the National Alliance on Mental Illness at the Fleur Room in West Hollywood Tuesday.

The “RHOBH” OG explained that her reason for not wearing the massive rock from husband Mauricio Umansky was two-fold. “A, I haven’t been wearing my big diamond ring, because there’s a lot of crime these days and I’m like, ‘I’m not comfortable,'” she began. “And B, I had just come from the gym lifting weights, so I was like, ‘That thing sparked that?’ I don’t know.”

Richards, 54, was most likely referring to a photo that was taken of her in February leaving the gym — sans her wedding ring — in blue leggings, a black tank and sneakers. The Bravolebrity dished that both she and Umansky, 52, are staying “unbothered,” despite having previously “struggled” when her co-stars brought up their marriage in the past.

“When this stuff would come up before, I would like, cry and I was devastated,” Richards reflected. “But now, I’m more like, ‘OK, I’ve done this before. Let’s do this. Bring it on. Come on. Let’s see what you got for me here.'” Despite knowing the truth of their relationship, Richards admitted that she still has to prepare for the fallout when it airs in a few months. “Obviously, you don’t love that because when the show airs in six months, I will be dealing with this and people are going to be talking again and more fake stories and lies. It’s just really frustrating.”

Richards hosted the event for NAMI — sponsored in part by Neuro Drinks — to raise awareness for mental health and pay tribute to her best friend, Lorene Shea, who died by suicide after a battle with mental illness last May. “I wanted to honor her and bring everyone together here tonight and raise awareness and funds because I really want people to know that there is help out there,” she told us.

Kyle Richards: I ‘haven’t seen’ Lisa Rinna since ‘RHOBH’ Season 12 ‘falling out’

Kyle Richards has distanced herself from once-close pal Lisa Rinna since they wrapped filming for “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” Season 12, during which the former model made unsavory accusations about the actress’ half-sister, Kathy Hilton.

“Uh, well, we had sort of a falling out last season with what happened with my sister, so obviously, that changed a lot of things,” Richards exclusively told Page Six Tuesday night at The Fleur Room West Hollywood, where she was hosting a night of music to raise awareness and funds for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).

“I haven’t seen her, but we’ve sent each other text messages and DMs,” Richards added, making sure to note that she “reached out” when she “found out” about Rinna’s exit from the reality series. “I don’t like to hold onto any negativity,” the Bravolebrity insisted. “I just want to move on from that.”

When asked where she stands with Hilton after the duo’s emotionally taxing last season, Richards, 54, replied coyly but with a hint of hope, “Well, we’re family. You know, it’s happened before, and we’ve fixed things.”

Last year, Kyle and Kathy reconnected after losing a close friend, Lorene Shea, who died by suicide on May 1 at the age of 52. In fact, Tuesday’s event was in her honor. Through tears, Kyle told us, “I really want people to know that there is help out there.”
