Kyle Richards Details 'Incredibly Moving' Memorial for Mary Cosby's Son Robert Jr.: 'Will Never Forget That Day'
Kyle Richards is there for her fellow Real Housewives star Mary Cosby.
On Wednesday, March 11, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star caught up with PEOPLE at the An Unforgettable Evening event, where she detailed her experience supporting Cosby, 53, at her son Robert Cosby Jr.'s memorial earlier this month.
Andy Cohen previously revealed that Richards, 57, attended Robert Jr.’s memorial service over the weekend along with other familiar faces from the Bravo universe as they showed up to support The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star.
"I don't know her well, but she's somebody who's always been kind when I have met her, and as a mother and a fellow Housewife, I just felt I needed to be there and show up and support her," Richards said while attending Wednesday's event in Beverly Hills, benefiting the Women's Cancer Research Fund.
She added, "It was just so incredibly moving."
When it came to the memorial for Cosby's 23-year-old son, Richards says she had "never experienced something like that."
"I'm so grateful that I had the opportunity to be there and support her and experience something like that. Like I said, I will never forget that day ever in my life," she adds.
Since the service, Cosby and Richards have been in contact and have been "texting back and forth," Richards says. "I appreciated her having me there because I just, like I said, I was so touched by it," she adds. "I just can't imagine what she's going through."
Robert Jr., Mary and Robert Cosby Sr.'s son, died on Feb. 23 following a struggle with drug addiction. Two days after their son’s death, the pair said in a statement that he had "been called home to the Lord.”
"Though our hearts ache, we take comfort in God’s promise and in knowing he is finally at peace," their statement continued. "We are grateful for your prayers and trust in the Lord to carry us through this time of sorrow."
